General Expectations of On Base Players and Parents

  1. During baseball season, baseball comes before out-of-season sports.  Your son is expected to attend all practices and games.  It is understood that during the winter practice season your son’s in-season sport comes before baseball.
  2. If your son is sick and misses school, they should also miss practice.  This keeps illnesses from spreading to the team and provides your son with time to rest, which is the best way to feel better faster.
  3. Lines of communication for concerns/issues
    1. parent discusses issue with their son
    2. 1st Line of Communication: Parent & son talks with their team’s Head Coach.  Please follow the 24 hour rule, this ensures conversations are civil and hopefully fact-based, not overly emotional.
    3. 2nd Line of Communication: Parent talk with the Director of Coaches (Tom Tennies) or Club President (Mike Tennies)

Indoor Practice Facility Information

Our indoor practice facility in Hartford. Each team is assigned a practice time slot which will be communicated by your coach.  Please note it is expected that younger teams will practice earlier at night and older teams will practice later.

There are a few things that we ask of you as parents regarding the use of the indoor facility.

1. Absolutely no food, seeds, or gum on the turf. This turf was a huge investment for our clubs and we need to take care of it so we can utilize the life expectancy of 12-15 years on this turf.

2. Absolutely no spikes allowed on the turf. Please have the boys wear boots, sandals or an old pair of shoes to the complex (especially in the messy winter months) and then put on their good shoes for practice. The more slop and salt that we can keep off the turf the better.
